LifeNets Well in the Mulanje area of Malawi

A special thanks to the Home of God Church in Portland, Oregon and the LifeNets North Dakota Chapter for funding the drilling of a community well to provide water for 1000 people in the Mulanje area of Malawi.  The cost of the well was more than $7300.  The Home Church of God provided $5000 and the LifeNets North Dakota chapter provided the remainder from the 2008 Triathlon.

THANK YOU FOR THE DEEP WELL  from caretakers Mr. and Mrs. Ken Maere

I humbly write to thank you very much for the gift of the deep well that was constructed at our home to solve the problem of shortage of drinking and domestic water. We and the community around us raised our eyebrows in disbelief when we saw the two very big trucks arriving at our home from water drilling contractors from Blantyre.

These two big trucks were escorted by a small car that carried our minister Mr. E.E. Salawila, Lewis Salawila and the driver Yamikani Salawila.

The work of drilling water lasted from Monday 17th to Thursday 20th August 2009. The well has come at the right time when people started experiencing shortage of drinking water. Over 1000 people in our community are benefiting from this deep well.

What you have done to us by providing drinking and Domestic water has made me remember what God the Almighty inspired Paul to write in his letter to the Romans 12:13 “Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality”

Thank you very much.

Yours Sincerely,

Ken and Lomere Maere
