We have already collected much for our sea container to Malawi that will be shipped in the month of November. The United States government is paying for the shipping that will be well in excess of $20,000. This is part of our government's foreign aid program.
Already Dyanne Dick has coordianted a 1500 pound blanket collection in the Northwest. Others have shipped blankets from West Palm Beach, Florida and other parts of the United States. We also have lots of clothing to send.
Our very critical need now is buy the last-minute items to load on the container. We have about $1500. To round out the shipment we will need about another $2500. We will buy the following items with it:
- One ton of rice
- Half ton cooking oil
- Unspecified amount of flour
- One pallette of salt
- $20 - $30,000 worth of medicines that have been requested. We pay 6% of wholesale for these medicines
We urgently need your help to complete this shipment. All gifts are fully tax deductible. Should you be moved to help us with tis mission, please make a contribution of any amount to:
Compassion Humanitarian Relief / Malawi

Greencastle, Indiana 46135Would you please help us in this last push? Any monetary gift will be multiplied many times over in purchasing these last minute items.

From Dyanne Dick:
Hello Vic,
Brett Wills just called me to tell me the blankets are to leave Seattle this evening, October 1. There are 5 pallets. The truck is going via Denver and then working its way to Minneapolis. The shipping company has the name, address, and telephone of where and who to contact. I don't know just when they will arrive.
I think you have already left for the feast. I am hoping that you are checking messages. Should I call Mary Sandmann right away? I have her phone number but I do not have Patty Carlson's number. If I haven't heard anything from you by tomorrow, I will call Mary and alert her.
The shipping company is: USF Reddaway
Because of the UPS strike, we have not been first priority as the trucking firms catch up on shipments. We had to take the boxes to a warehouse to be put on skids and shrink wrapped ( I guess that I have already stated this), so I won't repeat myself!
You and Bev have a wonderful feast. We will leave the day before the feast begins as we are going to Branson.
Dyanne
Do you nee an address of where to ship? It is:
Compassion Humanitarian Relief -- Malawi/Kubik
c/o Mac Hammond Ministries
9301 - 9308 75th Avenue North
Brooklyn Park, MN 55428
We discussed what's needed for Malawi. He told me that some of the items badly needed are
- Rice
- Salt
- Oil
- Children's shoes
- Clothes for children
- Glasses
Again, we are in last-minute mode. We would like to ask for contributions to complete filling the container. Tax-deductible cash gifts will be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Every dollar will buy $40 worth of life-sustaining humanitarian aid. You WILL SAVE lives.
If you can help us with completely tax-deductible contributions to help collect more items for Malawi and place on the containers headed that way, we would greatly appreciate it. You can send your contributions to
