Dear Mr. Kubik,

Greetings again from the Philippines!

With much gratitude, we acknowledge receipt of three boxes from LifeNets yesterday! They contained the following:

    10 backpacks
     6 sleeping bags
     1 dome tent
     1 magnetic compass
     1 binocular

We appreciate your continuing support for our annual summer United Youth camp. By the way, this year ours will be held from April 22 to 29, 2001 in Davao City. We will be expecting about 50 participants composed of about 40 campers and 10 staff members. We are also expecting one delegate from New Zealand.

We pray for God's blessings upon you as you offer a labor of love for us in this country.

Your fellow servant in Christ,

Ed Macaraeg

Greetings from the Philippines!

Thanks for your email. Yes, we just recently received the two (2) boxes of rubber shoes. Thank you very much. We are truly blessed to be recipients of donations from LifeNets International. I have already written Sue about the arrival of the donation. Thanks for all the efforts and the generosity! Yes, we were able to buy the tents. Since the 10-man tents have run out, we purchased the next biggest sizes which were the last remaining ones. Four of them are the dome-type 8' X 8' (familiar) Coleman tents. The other four are also dome-type but of a local brand. However, the quality seems to be just as good. Thus, we now have eight (8) large tents. These will be for the campers. We have a few smaller ones for some of the staff.

Mrs. Pilapil said she has still enough medicine. It appears that in addition to your donation, a relative much later also gave her some supplies. She is very thankful though and she is feeling much better.

Your work is doing much good in many parts of the world! We read recently about the donations to Guatemala of which due to certain God-inspired circumstances San Salvador became a happy co-recipient as well. Then, there was the much needed donation to Malawi. As you strive to help many people around this world, God seems to be greatly blessing your work in return!

In a few minutes, we will be on our way to this year's national youth summer camp for the Philippines. It will start today (April 22) and exciting and challenging activities will last until next Sunday (April 29). We will make a write up of the activities in the United News after camp.

We look forward to meeting with you on matters concerning your donations to this country during the GCE.

Regards, and see you soon.

Ed Macaraeg

Dear Mary and Catherine Coffman,

Greetings from the Philippines!

Finally, your shipment of Bibles consisting of seven boxes arrived yesterday!  It arrived packed exactly as you described it. Thank you very much!  Upon arrival, each box, following standard procedure was opened and inspected by postal and customs authorities. However, since I am known among those personnel, there was no hassle. One of the lady customs inspector hesitantly asked for a copy of the Bible. I offered her two copies for which she was very thankful. She said she will give them to her house helpers this time. (She asked for a personal copy from a previous shipment last year, for which I was happy to give then.)

Please relay also our thanks to others who may have contributed to this magnanimous effort and manifestation of love to the Filipino people. We know that God will reward all of you for your good deeds. We hope to be able to meet you someday.
