Hi,
Thought I'd update U again....Rosie got 14 more pairs of shoes--so I feel like we are in the home stretch of the shoe gathering.... She has located some sleeping bags that are sale priced under $10--is going to see if we can get any donated or more knocked off price--I told her to get the best deal she can on those and then buy all 10 she said they had in stock. So I feel sure we will get all the shoes--even if we have to buy a few more pairs. Plus we will get some sleeping bags--see what we can do about getting more of those too.
Working with Linda on tents and back packs--sent them the cover letter--with shoe info changed to tent and back pack info....

We will still work on getting the rest donated, and if we have extras--no problem. But I want to make sure e send at least what they asked for.
The Kmart I went to yesterday donated 6 pairs of shoes--but she told me I could buy more at $5 a pair. They are the type they asked for and were originally $20. So since I wasn't sure if we could get all of them donated--I went ahead and bought 22 pairs......
Rosie has a lead on sleeping bags...they are nice compact ones for $12.99--on sale at Sears. So I will discuss with you how many we should buy--we have not found any to be donated at this point.

I now have 31 pairs of sneakers ready to ship...
We are still going to be collecting more sneakers--but I wanted to get these shipped now. These are 26 pairs of the sizes you requested and 5 pairs of smaller children's shoes.

I actually have some sneakers in my possession now that have been donated--and a few stores have said they will donate--and I was at more today--so we are making progress!! And I have to call the corporate headquarters of Payless and a couple of other shoe stores...
