$145,000 Container to Mission Nazareth Arrives Intact

UPDATED October 17, 1996-- More information from Lydia Kubik Bauer re: delivery

Victor Pavliy, director of Sabbatarian Mission Nazareth received the best container of all. We are shipping another 40 ft container to the Mission Nazareth in approximately one week with over 11000 lbs of food, 200 boxes of clothing, and 100 boxes of medical supplies. Victor Pavliy is very happy--the ministry the Mission Nazareth is able to do much because of this supply of provision. It will bring them much respect in their community.

He has set up quite a distribution system and is quite proud of it. He even wanted me to audit his books ( I wonder is he knows I was previously an auditor for and international public accounting firm?)

Regards

Lydia

It is Sunday morning, 7:30 am. I just got done talking to Victor Pavliy at his home in Khust, Transcarpathia. The container was delivered last Thursday, September 19 fully intact. They still have to go through the food commission and some other government bureaucratic hoops but he doesn't expect any major problems. They are really excited and happy about the items delivered.

He told me a little of how they distribute. People come and apply for aid and then the Mission Nazareth people go to the persons house to verify the need for aid. The staff then goes back to the Mission and packages up food, clothing, etc. for that family (specific to their needs) and delivers it to them. All of the people we send to have some controls over the product but not like this! Sounds like he runs a first class operation.

P.S. -- I told Victor Pavliy that we will be shipping the second container in the next couple of weeks and that we have some dental equipment that will be shipping before the end of the year. The rice and oil were especially appreciated--especially when I told him rice was the cheapest item. He wants more of both because they are such staples to their diet and they can't get either of them there right now. When I told him that rice was $.12/lb and macaroni was $.27/lb he said to definately get the rice. So rice it is for the next load.

Just when I think I can't do another container, I talk to the people on the other end that have received the help and I get all energized again. This Khust container was the best ever--a chunk of money like you raised really makes a difference.
