LifeNets Charity Evening

July 30, 2006

LifeNets thanks the Ambassador Bible Center for sponsoring the LifeNets Charity Evening that raised a record $5325.00 for the Developing Nations Scholarship Fund. The special event was held on Sunday, July 13, 2003 at the Home Office of the United Church of God. This fund now sends 63 young people to universities, colleges and vocational schools in nine countries.

The evening began with free hors d'oeuvres at 6:00 pm.  The food was excellent and was paid for by an earlier car wash fundraiser. During the hors d'oeuvres people bid on silent auction items donated by members and businesses.   This was followed with a fun variety program and bake sale auction with auctioneer Mark Riley, former ABC student who came from Wichita for the fifth straight year to his splendid job at auctioneering.  Once again Barbara Antion's baklava was the favorite and two plates of it sold for $700.....enough to send a young person to college for an entire year in Latin America.  Enjoy the photos that tell the story below. LifeNets thanks all who worked so hard to produce such a fine event for a great cause!
