Mapoko, Zambia Church Building Opened October 8, 2016

Posted October 13, 2016

On Friday 07th October 2016, Felicia, Muhau, Deacon and Mrs. Luke Banda and I left Lusaka for Mapoko Church in Mumbwa to officially open and dedicate the church building to God.

We arrived in Mumbwa just before the beginning of the Sabbath. We spent a night at one of the Lodges. In the morning we drove to Mapoko where we found the brethren waiting for us. We went through Sabbath service programme and later I officially opened the building for God’s work. We had hymns and special songs with an attendance of 72 people including visitors who came to witness the event.

After the programme we had a meeting where we discussed some requests:

  1. To establish a Church branch in Chitanda area for 16 people.
  2. To be visited regularly.
  3. A borehole in their area (Chitanda).
  4. Two Oxen and a Plough for Mapoko brethren.

There are 16 people who come to attend Church in Mapoko from Chitanda. This area is about 40km from Mumbwa, the distance of 4 hours drive because of the bad road. To come for service at Mapoko they have to spend a night there before Sabbath. For me I think their request is genuine, I did not know that they lived far because whenever they came for FOT they always came together with the Mapoko brethren.
I did not promise them, but I said I will present the request to the necessary authorities before giving them the correct response.

Mumbwa Mapoko Church and the rest of us in Zambia send our thanks to LifeNets International, Salem, Oregon congregation and the home office for helping us to build the Church structure. It is such a beautiful building both in and outside. Pictures are attached.

We left Mumbwa on Sunday the 09th October, 2016 back to Lusaka.

Our sincere and loving regards to you all.
