Western Ukraine Transcarpathian
Sabbatarians Working in Moscow
Work is in short supply in Western Ukraine with the unemployment rate at 70%. To take care of their families many of the men have to travel to where the work is. Some have been able to work in Germany, while others in the Czech Republic or Slovakia. Also, some have been able to find construction projects in Russia. Here are a few photos of Ivan Pavliy, a Sabbatarian leader from Rokosovo, Transcarpathia while working the summer of 1998 in Moscow. Moscow is one of the few places in Russia "where the money is" and consequently there are many construction and restoration projects in progress.Ivan Pavliy is the editorial director in the Christian's of the Sabbath Day which is headquartered in Rokosovo, a village of 5,000 people about five miles west of Khust.
