A Visit to the New Orleans
on the Sabbath, February 25, 2006(combined New Orleans and Covington congregations)
- The city of New Orleans on February 25, 2006, six months after Hurricane Katrina
- An amazing person: 83 year-old Linda Bergeron who lost everything and still lives in a tent city in Chalmett, outside New Orleans. She is concerned about her friends and neighbors.
- The Katrina Blog
Beverly and I had a wonderful and inspiring visit with the brethren of churches who underwent the trauma of Hurricane Katrina last August. We were moved by their positive and courageous spirit. Several have had damage to homes and some still live in trailers as their homes are being repaired. Their spirit and faith is second to none. While they had gone through suffering themselves, their focus was on others and the Work of God. Here a few photos taken at services.
Bev and I were in San Antonio, Texas for the Council of Elders meetings from February 23 - March 1st. Over the weekend we went to New Orleans.
