Malawi Update

We have collected over 300 blankets in the Northwest and will be taking them by U-Haul with clothing and other useful items to the Compassion Humanitarian Relief warehouse in Minneapolis. The weight of the

blankets alone is 1500 pounds! A couple from this area will drive the U-Haul.

If you can help us with completely tax-deductible contributions to help collect more items for Malawi and place on the containers headed that way, we would greatly appreciate it. You can send your contributions to

Compassion Humanitarian Relief - Malawi
P.O. Box 476
Greencastle, IN 46135

Again, contributions are fully tax-deductible.

UPDATED July 28, 1997

We have collected all donations from the NW now, though one area and perhaps more will be working on some more bed rolls. One couple is storing the donations in their garage until we arrange the shipping. I will be talking to a fellow this next week about getting them to Minneapolis. I think we have $100 plus donated to help with the shipping. We will see how much more we will need to add to this. Canton, Ohio will be making a direct shipment to Minneapolis. They have collected a small number of blankets. But every ones small contributions will collectively make a bigger supply for Malawi.

I have heard positive comments from some of the people working on the blankets, and they are very happy to be able to contribute to the need.

Well that is about all of the news for now. We will take some time after this shipment to see if there is any interest in a second shipping.
