Heartwarming from NW Zambia

August 9, 2024

Northwest Zambia has held a warm spot for Bev and me.  We received this report from pastor Rodrick Epomba who oversees congregations in Solwezi, Mufumbwe, Manyinga and Zambezi that we want to share with you.

From Rodrick Epomba:

Hi everyone!

I would love to share a story of what transpired last Sabbath the 3rd of August 2024. I was so touched after Church service in Mufumbwe.... We had a very wonderful time meeting our brothers and sisters in the Lord. After the service Mr Kaputula Joseph called me and whispered to me saying:  "I have arranged something for the people."

When I asked what it was and which people he said it's somethings for some are our church members and others within the community we live in. " I have bought 20 Puma blankets for the less privileged, the old, the blind and those really in need. We've done it before but it wasn't this quality. This time we thought buying the same ones we use in our homes and what we will share with these people. It was all joy to the beneficiaries and the people around.

To those who have met Mr Kaputula you can testify that he is a very generous man he's helped a good number of people, widows, orphans, the lame and blind.

With the poultry that he runs and the help that he receives from well wishers like LifeNets and other people. He has not kept all this by himself but uses it to help the people around under his orphanage CHILEMO OVC.

The photos are of Mr Kaputula and some beneficiaries. In this generation where everyone wants things to be in their favor it's rare to see such people who are kind hearted and people who prioritize other people's problems, we've learnt a lot from him as he keeps inspiring even more people through his actions and kindness shown towards other people. It is our prayer that God continues to bless him and all the people that support and have supported his works before.

In Service,
Epomba Rodrick.

This is my reply to Rodrick Epomba with more information about this area.

Thank you for your report and news from Mufumbwe.  We are so privileged to have met this man Joseph at his Chilemo Club.   He is a story of great faith rivaling the stories of Hebrews 11.  He was always looking out for the vulnerable, the disadvantaged in his midst.  We met him at the Feast first in Lusaka (Verino) in 2010 and then baptized him with Christopher and his brother Samuel during the Days of Unleavened Bread 2011.  They had waited 25 years to be baptized.  Their story is told in the Beyond Today at
