Kinshasa, Congo Flooding Relief

April 18, 2025

The city of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with a population of 17 million is the largest city in Africa. It sits on the banks of the Congo River, which has recently reached its highest level in six decades. On Friday, April 4th 2025, torrential rains caused the river to overflow its banks, flooding about half of Kinshasa's neighborhoods up to about 1.5 m (5 feet).

The Living Church of God has about 150 members here. As the flood waters entered their homes, many lost mattresses, documents and other belongings. Two homes remain inundated, others have filled with silt. One home was washed away, while another's security wall toppled over.

This is devastating for the members who struggle to put even one meal on the table each day, let alone contemplate recovering from the flood damage.

LifeNets helped with a $2000 donation today.  Thanks to all who help us with increasing disasters.
