In January 2025, with funds provided by LifeNets, a mobility scooter was purchased in Germany and subsequently delivered to the Church of Salvation in Khust, Ukraine. On April 1, 2025, the church's deacons, Ivan Matishynets and Dmytro Fedoryshyn, transported the scooter to the town of Ilnytsia in the Zakarpattia region, where they presented it to Vasyl, a double amputee.
April 1 also marked Vasyl's 70th birthday. He expressed profound gratitude to the donors of the LifeNets foundation, as receiving the scooter fulfilled a long-held dream. Despite his age, Vasyl continues to assist his fellow villagers by repairing sewing machines for those who seek his help.
Vasyl resides with his niece's family, who took him in after his own family abandoned him due to his illness and leg amputations.
