Stories of achievement like this from our LifeNets Developing Nations Scholarship Program really give us great satisfaction. It makes our 21 year old program very worthwhile in what it has done to help our young people.
Firstly, I would like to thank God for His mercies and love towards us His children. Despite our sins and shortcomings, He still loves us unconditionally. . . . God cannot let His children suffer; as it is written in Matthew 6:31.
Christine Sakala
My name is Christine Sakala. I stay in Chipata, Zambia with a single parent, my mother. In the year 2017, my father passed away when I was just a little girl in primary school. I remember everything going black when I got the news that he had died. . . at this point, I did not know what to do or how I was going to continue with my school because my father’s relatives took everything and abandoned us. My mother couldn’t take the responsibility . . . because even now, she is selling tomatoes by the roadside in order for us to survive.
In 2018 when I passed my exams to go to a secondary High School, I almost gave up; but the Church was very supportive, and they encouraged me and my two sisters and two younger brothers. They started helping us with school fees up to this year (2021) when I completed my High School.
My gratitude goes to all those who supported LifeNets and I would like to ask you to continue supporting me until I achieve my dream to become a nurse. May the Almighty God bless you and your families. You are a blessing to many of us and a blessing to the world.
