We would like to ask you for your help with the education of students in Guatemala and El Salvador. In 2019 we provided $2000. We would like to increase that to $4000, The assistance would be for children in primary and secondary school with registration fees, transportation, food, uniforms and shoes.
This is what pastor José Israel Robledo Serrano wrote to us about the current help: He writes:
With much appreciation, we received the LifeNets donations of school supplies to help the education of 90 children and youth who regularly attend UCG Services in congregations of Guatemala and El Salvador.
In the first years, the focus was to slow down and revert the index of school dropouts, obtaining a reduction of 8% in 2013 to 1% in 2018. Later we set the goal of improving the grade point averages. We are presently encouraging the students not to end their schooling at High School level but to continue with university careers and, in this way, having more professionals enter the workforce in these challenging areas.
Here is the list of expenses in dollars and the school supplies (box of supplies, uniforms, shoes) purchased for 2019 for the 90 children and youths which came to US $2,000:
